Last week, our Storytime Live Outreach was filled with magic as Michelle Nelson-Schmidt read her beloved book Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster. The children were captivated by the story's message of self-belief, encouraging them to soar to new heights—something we at Children of Fallen Heroes strive to inspire in every young mind.
Tonight, we’re even more excited as Michelle brings us her classic Bob is a Unicorn. This heartwarming tale reminds us all that imagination can make the impossible possible, a core belief that resonates deeply within our mission. The smiles and laughter from these Storytime events are priceless, and seeing how they touch the lives of children, especially those who've faced loss, is beyond rewarding.
In addition to the magical storytelling, Michelle will also be sharing details about her annual Whatif Monster Apparel Fundraiser. This fundraiser is more than just a campaign—it’s a movement that spreads positivity and encourages children to face their "what ifs" with courage and creativity. This year, Michelle is taking it one step further by partnering with Children of Fallen Heroes. By joining our program, she is not only sharing her stories but also helping raise awareness and funds to support our STEM+arts programs for children in need.
Her passion for storytelling and belief in the power of imagination align beautifully with our goals. Together, we aim to bring more smiles, inspiration, and opportunities to the children of fallen military members, first responders, and communities in need.
Stay tuned for tonight's Bob is a Unicorn, and join us in supporting Michelle’s incredible efforts to make a difference—one story, one child, and one Whatif Monster at a time.
